These are a code of symbols used to nonverbally give others a heads up of what is in the area. Hobos used chalk or charcoal to mark places for free handouts, places to use a telephone, to watch out for dogs, and so on. They were generated by the hobos and were changed or adjusted as needed by the community.

Anyways, enough of the background lesson, these are a series of symbols designed for use by Foundation personnel when working in the field. Reading through the SCP entries you realize that nothing ever seems to go right when mobile task forces are called in to investigate and often things royally hit the fan. Team members disappear, contact with command is lost, walls shift, reality bends, strange things happen and you need a way to relay a warning to the next poor sap guy to come through here.

Some of these have more general uses while others were made with specific SCP subjects in mind. The idea behind the designs was to keep them simple, using only a few strokes so anyone could draw one properly and quickly. Making up each symbol are icons that more or less correlate with their meaning, though this is not a rule. Sometimes it's better that only those knowledgeable about the symbols know what they each mean.
