Description

"What If We Fail?"
There are two meanings here:

As a Christian I am taught to love thy neighbor, to never murder, never wish harm on another being. Jesus said to always turn the other cheek. Pray for your enemies, be the better person.

But what if it is not an ideal world? What if those who strike you aim to kill and want to wipe you and all that you stand for off the face of the earth? What if you standing against them is the only thing saving everything that you love and hold important?

Does this work if the world is so full of hate and death? What if there is no other option but to fight back and hope for the ideal world to tomorrow? If you're enemies will stop at nothing to blight you out, will you attack them back?
What if you fail to fight back, and everything you know is destroyed?

The Chief is nailed to a cross like Jesus. Jesus teaches kindness and forgiveness, but what if your enemies will stop at nothing to kill you? What if there is no compromise, no peace talks, no treaty possible? What If you must kill them to save your world?

This picture represents my struggles as a christian to find the middle ground between the ideal world of peace and love, and the real world of corruption and violence.

= Other = Possible = Meaning =

What if the Master Chief, the last Spartan, the last chance for humanity, died. The Covenant would waste no time in stringing him up to displace any hope that was left. They would burn our cities, crushing all under foot until no human stone was left standing atop another. Finally they would glass earth, turning it in to a wasteland. The Chief is mankind's best and last chance for the future. He is either their savior or their final defeat.

*Master Chief is from the Halo series. Copyright Bungie and all that jazz.
**note he is not Jesus, did not die for sins. he's on the cross because it has a powerful meaning behind it. I'm a Christian, you don't like it, that's art. The meaning behind it is more important than what what you actually see.

I like it but despite the description I'm not keen on showing Master Chief on the cross because Jesus died so we wouldn't have to, and Master Chief just doesn't compare.
